This is what we had searched for the spring collections and we have to choose what type of design we have to come out with.

Group Presentation

Last Tuesday we have a field trip to paragon where a lot of branded shop can be found there. We are suppose to do a group presentation on the fashion details which have to take picture of the garments and talk about it. My group had went to some of the branded shop like Gucci, Abercrombie & Fitch etc.

However, we have to retake the photos again as we noticed that we did not take the details of the garment properly. Hence we went back to paragon to take and write down the brand name of the garments.

Firstly, I presented about the garments from the brand, Valentino. It is made up of multi-coloured silk and the stitch was skillfully done. One garment can be costs over 4000 dollars.  

Garment with Tropical Dream print,front pocket with contrast piping and front fastening with buttons.

Skirt in A-line silhouette,straight hem, with a high rise banded waist. It is a romantic garden brocade tea-length skirt.

Silhouette clothing fashion

• It is the basic outline of the clothing on the body or the overall shape of the garment.
• This is important when discussing the cut of wedding dresses and formals,which can be used to dramatically emphasize and alter a woman's appearance. 
• Different dress silhouettes are designed to flatter different body types,and to match the formality level of different events.

Shape and outline such as :


Ball gown

   

In terms of design,it is fitted in the chest and down the torso, and then flares at the waist into a very full,often multilayered skirt. It is flattering especially for petite women,or full-figured woman. On a pear-shaped woman,the full skirt can camouflage large hips.



Empire

  

This dress has a waist line which is raised to directly beneath the bust,with a skirt that flares slightly from the raised-waist down.It is particularly recommended for women who do not have a defines waist but not for women with hourglass shape.



A-Line

 

It is similar to the ball gown,with a fitted chest and torso.However, the skirt is less full. This creates a smoother,more flowing line from the torso to the floor, or an overall body shape like the letter"A". This cut is called the "princess" silhouette. This is great for short women because it can give the illusion of height.



Sheath

 

It refer to dresses that are form-fitting from the bust through the length of the thighs. This is generally recommended for thin women who have gentle to no curves.



Mermaid

  

The mermaid silhouette is designed for women who have flattering curves that they want to accentuate.It is extremely fitted to the knee,at which point it flares out dramatically. It is not recommended for woman who are short as its emphasis on leg and torso length.



Balloon

  jjjj

Fitted or loose upper bodice with balloon like shape at the hem which end above the knee. This type of dress is perfect for skinny women as the dress emphasizes volume.



Trumpet

     

Fitted upper bodice to mid-thigh where the skirt flares out. Not for pear,apple and short women as this form accentuate the torso,hip and legs.
